Olivia Fiecther celebrates her first-round win

Team USA’s Amanda Sobhy, Olivia Blatchford Clyne and Olivia Fiechter are bidding to reach the Oracle NetSuite Open quarterfinals Thursday, September 26, in San Francisco.

Fiechter and Blatchford Clyne progressed to the second round after two straight game victories in the first round on the opening day of match play Tuesday, September 24.

Fiechter, world No. 39, pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the first round, defeating Belgium’s world No. 27 Tinne Gilis 11-6, 11-8.
