World No. 4 Marwan ElShorbagy and world No. 13 Paul Coll are the top two seeds in the 2018 Motor City Open presented by the Surburban Collection this weekend at the Birmingham Athletic Club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

2018 marks the nineteenth edition of the $70,000 men’s tournament held just outside of Detroit.

ElShorbagy, who reached the World Championship final in December, is making his fifth career Motor City Open appearance. After exiting the draw last year as the two seed in the quarterfinals, the Egyptian is predicted to reach the semifinals for the first time.

New Zealand’s Coll is making his Motor City Open debut as the two seed. A first-round victory could see ‘Superman’ face Australian rival and defending champion Ryan Cuskelly in the second round.

2015 champion Miguel Angel Rodriguez returns to the Motor City main draw with a first-round match up against Mexico’s six seed Cesar Salazar.

Peru’s world No. 10 Diego Elias enters the draw as the four seed and is predicted to reach his second consecutive semifinals.

Four qualifying finals will complete the main draw Wednesday night as Columbia graduate Ramit Tandon aims to reach his first Motor City Open main draw.
