The 2017 U.S. Junior Doubles Championships yielded nine first-time champions March 31-April 2 at its perennial homes Wilmington Country Club and Vicmead Hunt Club in Delaware.

Forty-four teams competed across nine boys’, girls’ and mixed divisions.

In the boys’ U19 division, Max Moyer & Peter Miller dropped just one game all tournament, including a three-game final victory against Grant Sterman & William Wu.

In the combined girls’ U17/U19 division, Rachel Mashek & Olivia Walsh claimed the title with four wins over the weekend, but needed five games to defeat second place finishers Rachel Chen & Renee Chan and Brittany Sun & Abigail Dichter.

Maxwell Orr & Jed Burde earned three victories on their way to the BU17 title, and needed four games to defeat second place finishers Dana Santry & Nicholas Spizzirri.

Spizzirii did earn a title in the Mixed U17 division with partner Emma Carney, who held off second place finishers Joe Kacergis & Sara Syed in four games.

Tournament founder Ed Chilton led the tournament in its thirty-first year.
