Forty-eight doubles partnerships descend on Greenwich, Connecticut, and Rye, New York, to compete in the U.S. Father-Son Doubles Championships and inaugural National Mother-Daughter Doubles Championship, April 12-14, at the Field Club of Greenwich, Round Hill Club and Westchester Country Club.
The fifteenth Father-Son Open national final is seeded for a rematch between the 2018 champions and finalists. Dominic Hughes returns as the top seed, and brings in his younger son, Josh, this year in place of Ben, who won the 2018 title. The Hugheses could face former three-time champions and four seeds, George & George Lemmon in the semifinals. 2017 champions and 2018 finalists Charles & Henry Parkhurst are seeded to reach a third consecutive final and will aim to reclaim the title.
Outside of the fourteen-team Open division, twenty-seven teams will compete in the Century, U13, U15 and U17 divisions.
The 2019 tournament enjoys an expansion with the addition of the National Mother-Daughter draw. Seven partnerships enter the inaugural field, which is split into two different pools. Baltimore’s Lissen & Katie Tutrone lead the division as top seeds and enter Pool 1, while New York City’s Emily & Ella Lungstrum enter Pool 2 as the two seeds.
