Twenty-three teams from nine colleges and universities will contest the thirty-eighth U.S. Intercollegiate Doubles Championships, which will be held alongside the 2017 U.S. Open presented by Macquarie Investment Mangement in Philadelphia at Germantown Cricket Club, October 6-8.

The eighteen-team men’s draw is led by to teams from the Naval Academy. 2015 champion Senen Ubina & 2016 champion Jack Herold have teamed up this year as the top seeds, while fellow Midshipmen Jonathan Lentz & James Kjorlien slot in as two seeds.
Yale has sent sent seven men’s teams, including three seeds Spencer Lovejoy & Parth Bhatia. George Washington and Franklin & Marshall are both fielding three men’s teams. Notre Dame make their tournament debut with Henry Greer & Max Cooper.
While Penn doesn’t have a side in the men’s draw, the Quakers are predicted to take both the mixed and women’s titles. Jonathan Zeitels & Lindsay Stanley are seeded to win a third consecutive Mixed title, but Cornell’s Margaux Losty & Ian Rothweiler aim to pull off the upset and win the Big Red’s first intercollegiate doubles title.
Cornell’s breakthrough could also come in the women’s draw with Losty & Charlotte Knaggs, but Penn’s Lindsay Stanley & Julia Buchholz enter the tournament as title favorites.
The world’s only annual collegiate doubles event was first played in 1942. The tournament will be again presented by the U.S. Jesters Club.
