For the sixth time, squash will be a medal sport in the Commonwealth Games. The 2018 Games begin tomorrow in Gold Coast, Australia. The Commonwealth Games, first held in 1930, are the world’s oldest and largest multi-sport international quadrennial event besides the Olympics.
Players from twenty-eight nations are entered in the squash draw, including Nicol David who has played in all five previous Commonwealth Games. The finals of the singles are on Monday April 9, the mixed doubles on Saturday April 14 and the women’s and men’s doubles on Sunday April 15.
The number one seeds in the 2018 Commonwealth Games singles are Laura Massaro and Nick Matthew. Their coach is David Pearson.
