Americans Hope Prockop and Michael Gough successfully defended their respective British Open Masters titles this weekend at Colets Health & Fitness Club in Thames Ditton, England.

Prockop, who has won both the U.S. women’s 40+ and 45+ champion for the past two years, entered both the 40+ and 45+ divisions at the British Open Masters for the first time, after competing in and claiming just the 45+ division last year.

The Boston-native entered the 40+ as a 3/4 seed, and went on to knock out the top seed in the semifinals, before defeating the two seed in a three-game final. Seeded first in the 45+ division, Prockop followed up her 40+ performance with another three-game final victory and a second title.

Gough, who won the 75+ U.S., World and British titles last year and 75+ U.S. title this spring, added another British Open 75+ title to his name in a four-game final.

U.S. 80+ champion Ed Burlingame entered the 80+ draw as the top seed, but exited the main draw in a four-game semifinal.

In the men’s 45+ division, 3/4 seed John Musto lost out to 5/8 seed Andy Normile in the quarterfinals. Men’s 70+ 3/4 seed Norbert Kornyei was also upset by a 5/8 seed in the quarterfinals.
