The U.S. Middle School Team Squash Championships continues its expansion in the tournament’s thirteenth year as a record ninety-six team prepare to compete, January 31-February 2, at Yale University and Hopkins School in New Haven, Connecticut.
The ninety-six teams will compete across four boys’ divisions and three girls’ divisions. Follow live scores throughout the weekend and view all draws on the Middle School Nationals Club Locker page.
Boys’ division one defending champions Haverford School lead the draw as the top seed and are favored to win what could be the program’s fourth title. Haverford could meet past champions Bronxville or Pingry in the top half of the draw, and are seeded to meet two seeds Brunswick in the final. Brunswick will have the opportunity to add a record eighth title to its tournament history with what would be the Greenwich, Connecticut school’s first title run since 2018.
Three-time champions the Baldwin School enter the girls’ division one draw as the top seeds. Last year, Sacred Heart upset the Bears to win their first title in the final, and could meet Baldwin in the semifinals. Greenwich Academy, who hold a tournament record seven titles, also enter the top half of the draw as the four seeds and will aim for a record eighth title. Greenwich Country Day School are the two seeds in the bottom half of the draw–the program’s highest seeding ever at Middle School Nationals.
Three time world champion Nick Matthew will be on site throughout the weekend supporting all teams on behalf of the Nick Matthew Academy at the Berkshire School in Sheffield, Massachusetts.
