2019 World Junior Championships focus shifted to the biennial Women’s World Junior Team Championship on Monday, August 5, following the conclusion of the World Junior Individuals as the U.S. enters the team competition seeded fifth at the Bukit Jalil National Squash Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Team USA is set for four pool play matches across three days, August 5-7, in hopes of earning the highest seeding possible in the culminating play-off rounds. The four-player U.S. squad includes Marina Stefanoni, who placed in the world’s top eight individually, U.S. champion Olivia Robinson, Elisabeth Ross and Caroline Spahr.

The U.S. passed its first test against seventeen-seeded Sweden on Monday with Stefanoni, Ross and  Spahr pulling off a 3-0 sweep. The U.S. will face both fifteen seeds South Africa and twelve seeds Korea on Tuesday.

Wednesday’s match up against four seeds England could prove to be Team USA’s pivotal pool play match ahead of the play off rounds.
