U.S. Junior Open Cut List Policies
  • At the regular entry deadline, US Squash guarantees entry for the two following categories of players:
    • U.S. Players (Category 1): The top 48 U.S. players based on the cut list points calculation will gain entry. Cut list points will be based on the November 14, 2018 rankings calculation.
    • International Players (Category 2): The first 80 International players to enter the tournament will gain entry. Admittance is based on the time of entry received (i.e. first come, first served).
  •  If both categories are oversubscribed, US Squash will create two separate waitlists – one for U.S. players and one for International players.
    • Waitlist order for U.S. players will be based on cut list points on the November 14 rankings calculation.
    • The U.S. player waitlist will only be used to replace withdrawing U.S. players.
    • Waitlist order for International players will be based on the time of entry received.
    • The International player waitlist will only be used to replace withdrawing International players.
    • Players on the waitlist from one category can be used to replace a withdrawing player from the other category only if there are no players on the other category’s waitlist (i.e. a waitlisted International player can replace a withdrawing U.S. player in the event there are no players on the U.S. waitlist).
  •  If one category does not fill the number of guaranteed playing positions as of the regular entry deadline, players from the other category will fill those unclaimed spots.
    • E.g. if 75 International players register before the deadline, and more than 48 U.S. players registered prior to the deadline, U.S. players will fill the 5 unclaimed positions, increasing the number of U.S. players from 48 to 53.
  • Any player entering after the November 14, 2018 deadline is considered to be a late entrant and is not guaranteed a position in the main draw. Late entrants will be placed on separate waitlist behind all players who signed up before the entry deadline (U.S. or International).
