Wesleyan University Seeks Coaching Intern

Wesleyan University is seeking candidates for an internship in college squash coaching, the position includes a stipend, full health benefits and a fully funded Master of Arts degree in liberal studies from Wesleyan University. This position offers experience in all areas of college squash coaching and prepare the successful candidate to become a head coach in the future.

Primarily reporting to the head coach of squash, this position will assist the head coach of squash in all phases of the program. Responsibilities include, coaching, administrative duties and teaching.

Coaching responsibilities include assisting with and providing on and off court instruction during practices and matches. Assistance with processing video and video analysis for practice and match play.

Administrative duties include providing academic support and monitor academic progress for student-athletes. Provide additional support for contest management as needed.

Recruiting responsibilities include assisting with on campus and off campus recruiting efforts. Coordinate campus recruiting visits for prospective student-athletes.

Teaching responsibilities will involve being a teaching fellow, assisting physical education faculty members with classroom interaction. Assist with out of class project work if required for PE credit.

Responsibilities include coaching and teaching (50% of expected effort) and administrative duties (50% of expected effort)

Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of playing and or coaching experience at the college level or equivalent is preferred as is a high level of computer/technological literacy.
