In a January meeting the Federación Panamericana de Squash (FPS) elected US Squash Senior Vice President of Marketing and Operations Dent Wilkens to serve as the new Regional Vice President for North America effective immediately. Wilkens fills the casual vacancy created when Peter R. Lasusa, former US Squash Chairman of the Board, was elected in the fall of 2018 as a Vice President of the World Squash Federation (WSF). The next FPS Executive Committee elections position will take place in the summer of 2019 at the Pan-American Games in Lima, Peru.

Wilkens brings robust experience in squash administration to the post after joining US Squash in 2009. Over the course of his tenure, he has served in multiple leadership rolls encompassing policy and strategy, partnerships, event management, and marketing and communications.

“I’m honored to be selected by the FPS for this position,” Wilkens said. “The worldwide profile of squash in the Americas has expanded dramatically in recent years, and I’m eager to work alongside my colleagues are the FPS to further the positive momentum of the sport in our region.”

The FPS serves as one of five regional federations of the World Squash Federation (WSF). The FPS, of which US Squash is one of twenty-eight national federation members, is responsible for organizing regional competitions including the annual Pan-American and Junior Pan-American Championships. Team USA will compete in the quadrennial Pan-American Games in Lima, Peru July 25-31, 2019 and in the Junior Pan-American Championships in Toronto, Canada June 16-22, 2019.
